Ozzy was the ultimate heavy metal head. And while parents everywhere feared him, and his possibly taking the children to the dark side, much of Black Sabbath’s music actually had a lot of social relevance to the times in which it was made. Like music has always been, some will use it to point out the absurdity of those who seek to destroy the very thing that they pretend to save.
I watch these concerts, where bands play to 50,000 or more, and it brings me back to when I played music. We played for 5or10 thousand people a couple of times, and we thought that was cool. I can’t even imagine playing for such huge crowds, every time.
Thanks for this taste of Ozzy and company. You picked a great song, to showcase.
For sure. “War Pigs” is probably my favorite Sabbath track, for all those reasons.
