New Testament album, “Dark Roots of Earth” comes out at the end of the month.
I’m having a hard time waiting for it. 🙂 It’s been in the works for over a year.
First track off the album, “True American Hate”
I know. It’s not Sunday Metal time, but I’ve been listening to this track over and over and it’s awesome.
Good stuff!!!
I just pre-ordered the CD+DigiPack, and a t-shirt. Yes, I’m a fan. 🙂
I kinda lose track of all these great bands over time. I’m seriously going to order this here in the next few minutes. I can honestly say that if I didn’t stop by your blog today? Chance are I would not have heard of this release…I feel great shame 😉
I was a Testament fan “back in the day” although haven’t listened to anything by them in years. This sounds different, but I like it.
Ever listen to Monster Magnet? I’ve been on a big MM kick the last couple of weeks.
I fell back in love with Testament in recent years. Loved the Practice-era stuff, they fell off my radar, but then I picked them back up. I think Formation of Damnation was a good album, and love some of the mid-range stuff too like The Gathering and Demonic. I think the only albums I really don’t like much are Souls and Ritual. I really am looking forward to the new album.
Yes, I love Monster Magnet, tho haven’t liked what Dave’s been making lately. Superjudge is one of my favorite albums. Love Spine of God, Powertrip is great (“Bummer” is an awesome song), and I dig God Says No but from that point I started to well… it feels like Dave changed and songs and everything took on a different direction. So they haven’t been tops on my list in a while, but I dig all those older albums.
Have you heard what I believe is the latest MM album Mastermind (2010)?
Here’s a vid from that album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=347M0hcgjcw and Dig that Hole live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMK4SsBnzA0
Dave is looking pretty… heavy.. these days compared to his drug addicted past.
Yeah…. I’ve noticed Dave getting fat.
Honestly, I think they made better music when Dave was on better drugs in his youth. 😉
Hah, I’m sure that’s true for many artists. Hah, reminds me of this Bill Hicks quote, which I’m sure you’ve heard before (at the very least from Tool): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c41Tjx8DPvY
Yup.
