Megadeth with “Head Crusher” off their “Endgame” album (which is pretty kick-ass).
What struck me about the video tho, that was pretty kick-ass too, was the video concept. And, the star fighter in it, Michelle Waterson. I could tell from watching the video she was a legit martial artist and fighter, and sure enough… she’s got an 8-3 MMA record.
I know I did this entry before, but I wanted to repeat it…. only because with all the (sad?) childish b.s. going on with the band right now, I get the feeling the train isn’t going to rolling for much longer.
All the drama aside, damn… Joe was rippin’ on that take.
Mötley CrĂĽe performing “Livewire” at 1983’s US Festival.
What I love about this performance is it’s a band doing a live performance! They’re working the crowd, constantly. From the long opening segment, to throughout the song. Always interacting and involving the crowd. And for (then) such a young band. Speaking of that, I liked one thing Vince slipped in…. “Hey Tommy…. everyone on Mick Mars’ side of the stage…. everyone on Nikki Sixx’s side…”. Figuring they have fans in the audience, but that it’s also a huge festival, some people won’t know who they are… a chance to help the crowd get to know them and build connections.
And sure… they sound a little bit like shit… but this is a band playing live. No Auto-Tune, no backing tracks. Just the band playing live and raw.
But the fact of the matter is, “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” rocks. The lyrical matter isn’t typical “hair band” fluff. It’s pretty guitar-driven. It’s heavy (for Warrant). Has a good hook. It tells a great story. Yeah most of the rest of Warrant’s stuff is shit (it’s fun, but it’s nothing spectacular). But this song is a gem.
This appears to just be a video that someone put together, showing scenes of the USA. The soundtrack is “America The Beautiful” as performed by Zakk Wylde from Black Label Society’s album “1919 Eternal”. I just thought it’d be a fitting song for today (and retention for the blog category).
And in the same vein, Zakk doing the “Star-Spangled Banner”
I actually don’t know much about Finntroll (other than they’re named after a “food library“), but I thought this video for “Under Bergets Rot” was pretty cool.
