Wife’s mobile phone was almost dead. Battery wasn’t taking a charge, it’s been dropped so many times it’s barely holding together. I figured why not… time to get her a new phone.
So, this morning we got her an iPhone 3GS 16 GB model. Yes I know, the iPhone 4 is only a couple days away, but she doesn’t need all the fancy stuff nor the price-tag that goes with it. This is fine.
I’m slowly getting her set up with it, getting her familiar with how to use it, customize it, and generally get around.
What is she most excited about?
She can now get on Facebook wherever she may be in the world. 🙂

Yes I heard about the location data stuff. Are you sure that other cell companies aren’t doing the same thing? Not saying it’s excusable, but it’s anything and everything these days for marketing and targeting the demographics, y’know?

Oh man… You had the perfect opportunity to give your wife your phone and upgrade to an iPhone 4. 😉 Kidding, kidding. If your wife is anything like mine she probably wouldn’t have appreciated a hand-me-down.
I can’t wait to get back home so I can upgrade my 1st gen which is now unfortunately obsolete. I can’t complain though. 3 years is the longest I have ever owned a single cell phone.
I thought about doing that too…. giving her my phone and getting the 4 for myself. But just don’t feel like shelling out the bucks right now.
The 3GS should last a good long while, but there’s no question that it’s officially on the downward trend now. *sigh* Well, have to keep all these hardware companies in business somehow. Ah, the upgrade business model…
