The Greatest Caliber Ever!!1!111!!!!

A couple days ago I received an email from Mark @ ammoforsale.com. I will say, it was nice that it wasn’t a form email out spamming the gun blogs — he commented on my grip post. No idea if he really reads the blog or just saw the one post enough to send the email… but whatever. It shows he made a little personal effort instead of being a spam-bot.

He wrote:

I’m writing in hopes of putting something on your radar – we just wrapped up some videos featuring “The Greatest Caliber Ever”. (Spoiler alert – they’re all the greatest)! If you get a chance, I’d love to hear your thoughts:

.223: http://www.ammoforsale.com/.223-ammo-for-sale#video

Each of the videos has an easy embed code; you’re free to share them with your readers if you think the short videos are worthy and something they would enjoy.

And while they do have embed codes, I can’t embed them here. Oh well. You should click on them anyways and drive traffic to their site… which is the point, isn’t it? 🙂

I don’t often post things like this, but the videos were short, funny, and well-produced. Don’t take it too seriously.

A little humor for your day.

Well-said

From Karl Rehn:

Self-defense training is about risk reduction. Those making choices based on Y chromosome-induced testosterone poisoning, rather than logic, reason, and data analysis, deserve whatever problems their stupidity leads them into.

Mayor Leffingwell – known by the company you keep?

[Austin’s] Mayor Lee Leffingwell was one of the first in the state to join the Mayors Against Illegal Guns coalition.

Full story.

They say you are known by the company you keep.

Members of MAIG have a pretty good track record of corruption, committing crimes, being indicted, being arrested.

Mayor Leffingwell, what’s a reasonable person to think about you?

Music you don’t want to hear at the gym

Music you don’t want to hear at the gym: .38 Special’s “Hold on Loosely”

Yesterday when I arrived at the gym, the radio was on the local rock station — someone left it off from last night. No way to turn it off, so I deadlifted with it playing.

This song came on prior to my heavy sets.

When you’re deadlifting, the last thing you want to hear is a cue of “hold on loosely”. 🙂

A developer’s life – in pictures

A friend passed along a website collecting a series of animated GIF’s that chronicle the life of a developer.

Apparently the GIF’s originally came from TheCodingLove and les_joies_du_code()

It’s like my life… in animated GIF format. 🙂

Awesome

Little girl hears Bad Brains for the first time.

I guess Bad Brains will be going on tour this summer with The Wiggles, Yo Gabba Gabba, and Laurie Berkner. 🙂

I love the “turn it up a little bit” comment she makes at the end. Rawk!  It’s something I love about (small/young) kids: they have no pretension, no preconceived notions, no hang-ups, and are just honest about life and love.

WordPress fail

I downloaded the WordPress iOS app update.

Installed. Oh hey, this “Notifications” thing is new. Let’s go see.

Crash.

*sigh*

Relaunch the app.

Oh cool. They have some mechanism that autodetects the crash and looks like it can send the crash report…. oh the app just crashed again.

HA!

And now it’s caught in an endless crash loop. Launch app, crash detector comes up for a couple seconds, then the app crashes. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Just awesome. 🙂
