Creature Comforts

I recall hearing about this (I’m a fan of Aardman) but it slipped off my radar. Creature Comforts. A full episode online. Quite hilarious. The bull at about 4:50? I LOLd.

They did a great job with things. Some of the match-ups are hilarious.

Go watch. Laugh.

Updated: Watched it again, showing the wife and kids. The level of detail is great (e.g. the video game playing whatever he was… note the samuri sword on the back wall as a perfect touch for the scene). The juxtapositions are just so well done.

The server is down

So… the company email server goes down. No problem. These things happen.

The server comes back up. All the backlogged email comes gushing through.

What’s one of the first emails that we receive?

An email telling us that the email server is down.

*sigh*

Reminds me of The Website Is Down, sales guy vs. web dude. NFSW, but damn hilarious.

Spinal Tap on tour

Legendary band Spinal Tap has announced their 25th anniversary world tour, one night only.

If you’ve never seen the movie, “This is Spinal Tap” do yourself a favor and rent it.

Many people don’t know where the joke/phrase “going to 11” comes from:

And let’s not forget, that D Minor is the saddest of all keys.

Spinal Tap. Genius comedy.

Disney copy-paste

I’ve seen these Disney movies many times (I have kids!), and I noticed some of the similar/rehash stuff back when I was watching these over and over and over and over with my kids. This video did a great job of really showcasing it. While watching this video, what got me was the video’s juxtaposition really brings to light just how far they went with the copy/paste, down to the last detail.

(h/t to Fark)

Note, I don’t consider this a horrible thing, just interesting. I would like to know the story behind it because this was back in the days of traditional cell animation where you still had to draw… not like they could just re-render some CGI scene. How did they do it? What motivated them to do it (budget? stock actor films? homage to past films?).

Fear of Girls

If you ever played a role-playing game, you’ll understand Fear of Girls.

I discovered it a few years ago, and every now and then I go back and watch because I find it hilarious. The guys that play Doug and Ray play their roles (!) extremely well. I thought the second episode was pretty funny and built well upon the first. I discovered today that they did a third episode, in three parts. I didn’t find it as funny as the first two, although it had some good moments and certainly worked to evolve the characters a bit more (e.g. we got to peek into Ray’s life). I do look forward to future episodes.

If you visit their YouTube channel you can view all the episodes along with outtakes, some of which are hilarious (e.g. episode 1 outtake 5).
