Hooray for belly flab?

A woman in Florida — an innocent bystander — is shot when entering a bar.

The woman lives. Why? According to the article:

Frazier told The Press of Atlantic City that ‘I could have been dead. They said my love handles saved my life.”

The new body armor: flab. 😉

Frazier also told the newspaper that she had been “hollering” that she wanted to lose weight. She now said “I want to be as big as I can if it’s going to stop a bullet.”

Hrm. If needing to stop a bullet is something you find yourself worrying about on a daily basis and you’re not say a cop, SWAT, military (i.e. where your job requires you to field incoming fire on a daily basis)… then you may just want to rethink the whole of your lifestyle choices. That may be healthier for you in the long run.

Treat everyone nice

This is why you treat everyone politely; you never know who you’re dealing with.

A man in Berlin is denied access to a club. He gets rude with a bouncer. Then it becomes evident to the rude man just who the bouncer is: kick boxing champion Michael Kuhr. Suddenly the man becomes very polite and compliant.

Of course, the better part is watching the bouncer and how he handles things. Always cool and polite. Takes nothing personal because he knows the man isn’t mad at him, it’s just part of the job.

Funny stuff. 🙂

LEGO Airbus 380

Wow. An Airbus 380. Made out of LEGO.

Read more about it here. More pictures too.

Displaying immaculate sculpting techniques, designer Ryan McNaught has come up with a stunning model of an A380, which is made entirely out of the Lego blocks. The Lego Airbus touts a fully detailed interior featuring scenes from five different movies, together with a range of landing gears and working engines that can be controlled by the computerized A380 control panel. You may retract the gear, open cargo doors, move the flaps, activate the landing lights, move the tail fin and control the engines with the help of a touchscreen computer. Everything seems to be attached perfectly in the Lego mock-up of the Airbus

I don’t make a wee bit of sense

I saw that commercial for the first time last night.

I’m Scotch-Korean (well, German Scots-Irish, and Korean). So apparently I don’t make a wee bit of sense. Or maybe since I’ve got some Irish and German in me too, I make even less sense?

I’m offended.

Yes, my feelings were hurt.

They’re making fun of me.

They’re making fun of my ethnicity.

They’re putting me down.

They’re equating me with candy.

I have no self-esteem.

I’m going to sue! Sue I tell you! That’s The American Way.™

Nah….. not really. I think it’s pretty funny. Yes I know, strange thing this “sense of humor” and “thick skin”, not very common these days.

Pick One

Was reading something this morning about “speed vs. accuracy”. The article was about not choosing between the two but striving to have both. I would agree with that. However, I still believe there’s ultimately one that can edge out the other for the top spot. Thus this post. I’ve got a list of things and am going to “pick one” and tell you why. This isn’t gospel, just rambling. But I’d be curious 1. what you’d pick and why, 2. if you’ve any other “pick one” situations to share.

Note, this isn’t purely a gun thing, so you non-gun folks are welcome to read on. 🙂

Finding common ground

Lookie here!

I found some “common ground” with the White House. Regarding the statements Pat Robertson made regarding the situation in Haiti, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said:

“It never ceases to amaze me that in times of amazing human suffering somebody says something that can be so utterly stupid,”

Amen.
