So my ankle problem?

Doctor puts me in one of those brace boot things.

I see on the form: $375. But they are quick to say “no, that’s not the price you pay… that’s just the price we put on there for the insurance. You just pay $58.”.

And right there folks, is the crux of the problem with our “health care system”.

  1. When our first child was born we went to several doctor open houses. They presented what they do and how they do it. After a bit of Q&A from other parents/soon-to-be-parents, I asked what a visit cost.

    Of the 4 doctors and 3 nurses present, exactly zero knew.

  2. Youngest had tubes put in her ears. Bill the insurance company was $15k+. Insurance company “discount” was $14k+. What a crock!
