SB 766 – passed!

SB 766, the shooting range protection bill, passed out of the Texas Legislature and is on its way to the Governor for his signature. Good deal.

The House sponsor was Rep. Jason Isaac. It’s still weird to see his name in regards to Texas politics, because we went to high school together in Virginia. Just one of those “small world” things. But I’m glad to see this!

  1. Definitely going to have to get a copy of that bill and study it. With more and more houses going in around our range, I have a feeling we’ll become very accustomed to referencing it.

    • make sure the local Realtors know….. the range was there first, folks don’t act surprised when you don’t do your due diligence when buying.

  2. It’s not an ironclad protection (they have this in Georgia, too… and folks have tried some pretty underhanded stuff to try to get around the law to close ranges down there), but it’s a huge step in the right direction!
