Lobster joy

Took the family to Red Lobster last night.

Yeah, it was expensive… seafood generally is.

But watching Oldest having the time of his life as he ate his first whole lobster (shell-cracking and all)? Worth every penny. He even wore the bib. 🙂

  1. If you get the opportunity for a family road trip, head down to Corpus (the armpit of the Texas gulf coast) and go to Snoopy’s Seafood. The place is FABULOUS and while it’s not cheap, it’s cheaper than Red Lobster and the food is awesomely good.

You can make a nice day trip of it and take the kids to see the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington (both within walking distance of each other and only about 15 minutes from the seafood place).

The lady and I did the trip on a Saturday a couple of months back as a whim, it was a lot of fun and well worth the trip.

    • The kids actually have been wanting to do a beach trip this year. I’m thinking we may wait until early September when it’s out of season and public school is back in session… things will be less busy and probably cheaper. Joys of our flexible lifestyle. 🙂

Whenever we do go, I will check out Snoopy’s. Thanx for the tip!

Trust me, I know that Red Lobster isn’t that great a seafood place. I grew up on the east coast, so fresh seafood is something I sorely miss living here.
