I’m speechless

Reading this posting from Linoge… I’m speechless. Well almost speechless.

Not at Linoge, but the crime he discusses. I don’t even know where to begin… but what Linoge writes is a good start.

  1. Frightening, is it not? Not only that such things happen – that is hardly surprising, these days – but rather that they are becoming so common over there, and even more that the government is not doing a gorramed thing to help stop it, or even alleviate it. Hell, just a few days ago, they refused to send cops to a house being broken into while the residents were there for fear of “escalating” the situation.

It is one thing to not help your citizenry out… hell, that is pretty much the government’s job. But simultaneously stripping your citizenry of not only the tools, but also the ability to defend themselves (what with the countless criminal trials of folks who were just trying to protect themselves from criminals)? That is just disgustingly reprehensible.

    • I’m floored at the behavior in the UK these days… criminals have all the power and the law-abiding citizens are helpless. It’s daft.

The thing that we here have to remember is: we could become that. We can’t alllow ourselves to. It won’t happen overnight, it will be a slow, trickling change. Gotta plug the leaks before they happen.
