Funny how the “armed self-defense” approach is A-okay at the macro scale in HI, but Heavens forfend they should entertain the notion of plain citizens being armed to protect themselves from footpads and highwaymen, ooooo nooooo.

I live in the country with my husband and young daughter. I have a gun; I’m an excellent shot; I would not hesitate to use shoot someone in defense of my home or my family. However, I honestly think it won’t be long before the new administration and Congress start passing laws to take my gun away – in the best interest of the poor rapist or burglar whom might be injured when attacking my home and family. Thank goodness there are at least a few more options out there. I have a business where I sell stun guns, TASERs, crossbows, surveillance equipment, etc. But honestly, when my husband is gone and someone is rattling the knob on my backdoor, I grab my 38 – at least I will until it’s illegal. Then I will have to rely on the non-lethal weapons I sell – in the hopes the criminal attacking me is following the law and not armed with anything more than a sharp knife.
Just look at the UK as an example of how bad things can get. The criminals there have more rights.
