It’s a breaking news story… details are slim at this point, but it seems a Florida citizen with a concealed weapons permit foiled a robbery in a Miami Burger King. Another story here and here but apart from listing the CWP holder as a Good Samaritan, not much more detail.
We’ll see what comes of it.
Apparently he took a few in the process. I hope he has a full recovery.
I would like to get more info to find out if he could have “been a good witness” or if he was forced to get involved.
Indeed. I went looking for more information this morning and couldn’t find anything new. Maybe later today.
I am unsure about this myself. If the clerk’s life was in danger, wouldn’t you have a moral obligation to intervene? But if all that was involved was losing some money, is that worth dying over? However, how can you know all that would be involved was losing money? It’s really tough to say with so little details.
But the key point seems to be: is it worth dying over? I mean, the guy took a few himself… hopefully it was worth it.
This isn’t necessarily more information, but it’s commentary on the “tactics” of the event:

I don’t care for Piazza’s constant shilling and self-promotion, but wading through all that and IMHO he’s got the right tactical approach.
