Mike-istan didn’t consent. Maybe he’d be interested in what’s going on in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire isn’t alone, 8 states have passed similar legislation, and 12 more are expected before the end of the year. Interestingly enough, the liberal bastions of California and Michigan are included in this list(I guess that is a case of “give us lots of money but don’t tell us what to do).
Believe it or not, California isn’t as liberal as you might think. Consider this past election season and how Prop 8 passed. Look at the voter distribution map. Just that you have pockets like San Francisco, Los Angeles, etc. that strongly skew things and exert a great deal of influence over the state’s laws. I still wouldn’t want to live there tho. 🙂
I do find it interesting and refreshing that folks are finally taking a greater interest in the US Constitution, and here the 10th Amendment.
I know about California, my job used to have me in there several times a month, you are right, the liberals are concentrated in places like LA and the bay area, whoever the numbers there outweigh the rest of the state. The downside to that sort of population concentration is shown in the water issues faced by the state, the LA area wants to take water from the farm country, they seem to think green grass in a desert and freshly washed cars are more important than food to eat and farm produce that pretty much carries the state’s economy.
That said, I still find it interesting that California is concerned about the feds overreaching states’ rights
I always got a kick out of California some years back when they were having the rolling blackouts. Why? Because they didn’t build new powerplants to keep up with growing population and demand. It’s funny… you can scream about protecting the environment and all that and stop building powerplants, but then what’s going to power your laptop so you can blog about it? what’s going to power your blog’s server? what’s going to power your espresso machine so you have something to drink while you blog? and so on.
California’s not all bad tho. Scenery is gorgeous. Very nice to visit. I just think too much is bass-ackwards there; I couldn’t live there.
